- Alligator - A specialized tool attached to a hot stick used to tie a wire or cable into an insulator. (Caimán)
- Autotransformer - A transformer in which at least two windings have a common section. They are use to either "buck" or "boost" the incoming line voltage. (Autotransformador)
- Blackout - Complete interrupting of load to an electric utility customer or group of customers. (Apagón)
- Circuit breaker - A device that can be used to manually open or close a circuit, and to automatically open a circuit at a predetermined level of over current without damage to itself. (Pastilla Termomagnética)
- Conduit - A channel for holding and protecting conductors and cables, made of metal or an insulating material, usually circular in cross section like a pipe. Also referred to as Duct. (Tubería para cable)
- Luminaire - A complete lighting unit consisting of a light source with a means of distribution (reflector and/or refractor), lamp positioning (socket), lamp protection (housing) and a provision for power connection. (Luminarias o lámparas fluorescentes)
- AWG - American Wire Gauge: A measure of wire thickness (which also dictates cross-sectional area, and for a given material, ampacity). (Calibre de alambre Estadounidense)
- Ampacity - The amount of current a conductor can carry without exceeding its specified temperature, in amperes. (Amperaje)
- Relay - electromagnetic switching device consisting of an armature which is moved by an electromagnet to operate one or more switch contacts. (Relevador)
- Three phase - It refers to one circuit consisting of three conductors where the current and voltage in each conductor (phase) is 120° out of phase with each other phase. (Sistema Trifásico)
